when jinah tried to explain to me what exactly terence koh was doing at nothingtoodoo, i couldn’t quite picture it till i saw the images.

so to better depict the performance art, i made a feeble attempt at illustrating his posture as he ‘knee-ed’ his way around the large salt hill.
this is the illustration I ended up using. once again, simple is best.

after watching gasland, a documentary highlighting the dangers of hydraulic fracturing a.k.a. fracking, i NEEDED to feature this on the trial&error issue.
When my mentor Richard Mehl saw the spread, he mentioned that his wife, Alicia, has worked with Josh Fox, the director, through NYH20. So I sent along a copy of the zine with Richard and hopefully, the zine found its way amongst the pile of fan-mail..?
I never know how things turn out to be, but all I really need to do is get it done and hope for the best.

i am blessed to have such a talented group of friends, who are so eager to help out a zine-in-need with such amazing work. i believe the series of drawings/collages were done in tess’ sophomore year at sva.
I ended up choosing the last collage, in b&w, of course, not only because of the rich texture and beautiful layout but the fact that there were two cigarettes broken in half.
I thought it all tied in quite nicely with the theme of issue no.02, trial & error.

jinah, the loveliest roomate one can hope for, always sends me a massive email loaded with bunch of photographs to be considered for the next i’mazine issue.
My biggest dilemma is choosing amongst the great b&w photographs and I’d like to take this chance to show some of the un-published contributions.

a close friend of mine has been hospitalized with what’s been vaguely explained as a lumbar disc. since she’s a killer for anything fluffy and creamy, i’ve fetched a lamb from my sleep. voila!
